Midwood is filled with miracles!! I am so amazed by the people,
events, and the spirit that is here. I love it! This week was amazing
and I am learning so much!
Yesterday Victoria Washington got baptized. It was the smoothest
baptism I have ever been to or been apart of. Because it was fast
Sunday we didn't have too many members show up but Bishop Grow gave
the best welcome to the ward I believe I have ever heard. He talked
about the responsibility that members of the church have to take care
of each other and to look after one another. He bore his testimony on
the importance of Visiting and Home Teaching. He told her that she
would have the support she needed and the love that she needed here in
this ward. Victoria is amazing and has already expressed a desire to
come teaching with us to that she can help people feel as happy as she
is! It was so cool! There were about 6 non-members there (one of them
being Barbara who said that this really helped her move closer to her
baptism), and three sisters from Westchester who were sisters of the
man who introduced Victoria to the church. It was a really good
service.
Victoria is an amazing woman who went on a blind date with a return
missionary. She flew from New York to Utah to visit Temple Square.
When she watched the video about families she knew that this is where
Heavenly Father wanted her to be. She has such a strong testimony and
she is so excited to start serving in the ward. We love her very much!
Our other investigator Barbara was at the baptism and said that going
to the baptism helped her to move closer to setting her own date! It
was an amazing service where the spirit was so strong!! I LOVE
MISSIONARY WORK!!
Today we went to the Brooklyn Bridge. It was so cool! There are so
many stories on that Bridge that tell us a lot about the people, and
events that have taken part here in New York!! I just love it here so
much! I took more pictures that what I sent you earlier but they are
on my other camera so you'll have to wait to see those. But anyway it
was really cool and I loved being there!!
Ok I have to go. I love you all so much!!
