Dear Family,
I can not believe it is Monday again! This week has FLOWN by! I really don't know what to say here but I know soo much has happened in the past week.
Sister Moreno Diaz and I went on splits with the Traveling Sisters last week and learned a lot! We had so much fun! It was really great to be able to see how other missionaries work in the mission. I loved it! These Sisters work in the same area as some of the Elders from my district in the MTC so it was really great to be able to hear how they are doing and some of their experiences! One of the shiest in group was almost kissed by an elderly lady, apparently it was a very funny situation! I wish I had been there to witness it! We are having some of our own great experiences here in Bay Shore anyway.
Valentines day was so fun! Not only did I recieve so many wonderful packages from lots of family and friends we recieved roses from a lady in the Bay Shore ward! Missionaries are seriously so blessed to be able to serve here! We spent the day heart attacking members doors. Elders Kang and Crabtree came up with the idea and we had so much fun running away from children trying to catch us and angry neighbors mad because we parked infront of the fire hydrant. We had dinner at a members home that evening who is a cheif... need I say more? It was AMAZING!!! Luckly she is moving to Arizona next month so I can look her up when I get home!
The best part of the whole week was there were 4 baptisims in our zone yesterday! Our investigator, Clarissa, was one of them!!! She is so sweet! We are so blessed to know her! At all four baptisms there were many members from the ward supporting those who werer being baptized! The member support here is so awesome! We are SOOO BLESSED!!! Have I mentioned that yet? Well we really are! :)
A downer for the week was however that transfer calls were made... our district leader and his companion are both leaving us! :( We have become really close as a district and we are really sad to see the Elders go. One is being transfered to another area and the other is going home because of his hurt knee, he has to have surgery on it :( We will miss them but know this is the Lord's work and the new Elders, or Sisters who come in will be just as amazing! WE ARE SO BLESSED!
Love,
Sister Hamblin :)
P.S.
I know Elder Hamblin is an over achiever and already sent Raddon his birthday present but I am a slacker can only send a letter :( I have been looking everywhere for some really cool New York thing that would be awesome but really there is nothing here on the Island. I will keep my eyes open though... sorry!
